Sally Goodson began her oil and gas experience working on design and fabrication of offshore oil and gas platforms and facilities for Chevron in the Gulf of Mexico. She did project economics for several oil and gas projects, including providing facility cost for offshore lease bidding. She left Chevron after 13 years to pursue an MBA degree from Southern Methodist University and then went to work at The American Petroleum Institute (API). 

 

For several years at API, she managed the API worldwide auditing program for API monogram and ISO programs and witnessed many API audits in various parts of the world. Sally then changed positions to manage several API standards committees under the Midstream segment, focusing on Measurement Standards. Here she worked with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Bureau of Land Management (BLM) under The Department of Interior (DOI), and Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) on various regulations and projects. In addition, Sally worked on certain policy and greenhouse gas emission measurement  issues. Sally also performed strategic planning to promote API standards in Europe, China, Singapore and Argentina, often sitting on panel discussions in these countries.

Sally retired from API after 23 years and started Goodson Energy Advisors LLC in 2024. After almost 40 years in the industry, Sally has witnessed  many technical, economic and policy shifts in the industry and understands the challenges it faces.  She is ready to assist your organization meet these challenges.
